How to use Facebook FBML to customize your Facebook Page



I originally contributed this article to Social Media Examiner on June 8, 2010.

The post on Social Media Examiner received a tremendous amount of views and comments.  Although I provide consultation services, it’s important to note that Facebook FBML will be deprecating, meaning further development of FBML will be halted, not eliminated.   What does this mean after all is said and done?  Facebook FBML will be supported and will continue to work, you just won’t be able to create new FBML apps (mostly for developers).  If you need help coding and designing FBML for your Facebook page, please contact me and I’d be more than happy to consult on an hourly basis.

Facebook Fan Page vs Facebook Group – Which One Do I Choose?



So you think it’s time for your company to join Facebook, but having a hard time deciding between a Facebook Fan Page and a Facebook Group?  Here’s the answer:  get a Facebook Fan Page and supplement with a Facebook Group in that order.  The latter of which is optional.  There is a major difference between the two Facebook networking tools in the short term and long term.
